Most traditional home alarm systems are designed to operate over standard phone lines. When an alarm customer switches to an Internet phone service (commonly referred to as Voice over Internet Protocol, or VoIP), the alarm system will no longer communicate reliably. Traditionally, you have a couple of choices:

  1. You can keep a standard phone line for the alarm system. This is usually expensive and prevents you from realizing the full savings from switching to Internet phone service.
  2. You can replace your alarm system with a cellular modem based model. This is expensive and the savings you get from switching to Internet phone service is offset by the cost of the new alarm panel.

NextAlarm offers a different solution. NextAlarm uses patented technology to connect most existing alarm panels to your high-speed Internet service. This solution is easy to install and can save you a lot of money.
